I am a huge chocolate chip, brownie, and cheesecake fan, so I decided to combine the three, and make an amazing dessert. You will love this simple and delicious recipe, full of chocolatey flavor.
Ever since Steph shared her Brownie Caramel Cheesecake, I have been dreaming about all the different flavors of cheesecake I could be making.
My kids are crazy about chocolate chips, so I knew they would love this Chocolate Chip Brownie Cheesecake.
It was quite the hit at our house. It was also incredibly easy to make. Usually cheesecake scares me a little to make, but this recipe was pretty simple and full of delicious flavor.
If you are looking to get your chef on, and be creative in the kitchen, this recipe is calling your name. It’s fun to make, and even more fun to eat. Enjoy.
would this recipe be easy to half?
If you are looking to half the recipe, you most definitely could. However, if you do do this, we recommend using a smaller spring form pan, such as a 6 inch pan, to allow the brownie and cheesecake to cook through completely.
You will also need to cut back on the cook time. We recommend cooking it 10-15 minutes less, but watching it carefully in case it needs more or less time.
when do I add the eggs?
If you read through the instructions, you will see that we used a boxed brownie mix, to make the brownie base.
With that, you will need to use the instructions on the brownie box, to make said brownie batter.
The eggs called for in the recipe are to be mixed in with the cream cheese, not the brownies. Depending on what brownie mix you use, you may need more than three eggs to make this recipe.
How long will this stay good in the fridge for?
We highly recommend making and eating this recipe the same day. However, if you do have leftovers, we recommend placing the slices in an airtight storage container, and placing it in the fridge.
This will stay nicely in the fridge for about 3 days.

R says:
It doesn't say what size brownie mix to use. I used one for an 8x8 so I'm crossing my fingers it's okay but it would be good for the recipe to specify
-
C says:
It says 18.3 oz.

Kristi says:
Do you pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooked brownies and then bake for 50 minutes? I'm confused on when the two come together.
-
Cyd says:
You bake the brownie bottom for 35 minutes. While it's baking you make the cream cheese layer. Then reduce oven temp and pour cheesecake layer over the brownie layer and cook an additional 50 minutes. Hope this helps!
-
Kristi says:
It does help! Thank you very much! I'm making this tonight for my husband's birthday tomorrow. He doesn't like cake but loves cheesecake and loves brownies!
-
Shanterra says:
The brownie won't get hard from the additional cook time?
-
Cyd says:
The brownie didn't get hard. Just cook until the center of the cheesecake is set. We love this dessert.
-
Nia says:
When I made this the brownie did get hard. The cheesecake part was good, but it was tough to get through the brownie.

Amy Lopez says:
i have made this many times and everyone in my apartment complex absolutely loves it....gonna try it with some cocoa powder to make it a chocolate chocolate chip cheesecake to see how it turns out
-
Amy says:
I have made this a few times and it is an absolute hit!!! My only question is my cheesecake batter is thinner so my chips settle at the bottom while cooking (batter cooks well so there is no issue with the batter). I have folded chips in then sprinkled some on top just before baking but I'm having trouble getting a nice even mix. Any tips??
-
Cyd says:
You can toss them in flour before folding them into a recipe. This helps suspend them in the batter.
-
Lisa says:
Wouldn’t the brownie burn? I’m confused
-
Cyd says:
You reduce the heat when you put it back into the oven to cook the cheesecake part. We haven't had a problem. You can pull it out of the oven when your cheesecake layer is set.

i don't have a springform pan or a cake pan--does anyone know if you can make this in a 9x13 or in an angelfood cake pan? I have no idea how to adjust the times, or if it is possible. thanks!

Thelma Garry says:
Can I use the same amount of ingredients for a 10 inch pan. And do I spray the whole pan or just the bottom?
-
Cyd says:
This recipe will be the same for a 10 inch pan. We sprayed the whole pan.
-
Alison says:
I made this twice and it came out like an egg souffle both times. It is terrible. It did not bake in 50 minutes and was awful.
-
Debbie says:
I made this & baked according to directions....the brownie was hard.
-
Lisa says:
I had the same result. Hard brownie.
-
Carrie says:
I am making this cheesescake now and am wondering if 3 eggs are for cream cheese mixture or 3 eggs in recipe include eggs used in brownies?
-
Cyd says:
It says to make the brownies according to package directions. The 3 eggs listed in the ingredients are for the cream cheese mixture.
-
Bethany says:
Can I cut this in half to do in a 6 inch springform?
-
Cyd says:
We have only made it in the 9 inch springform pan. If cutting it in half, watch it closely because the cooking time will vary.
-
Julie says:
I am so happy to have discovered this recipe. I can’t even count how many times I’ve made it. I bake the brownie for about 20-25 minutes rather than 35 min and it prevents it from getting hard. It has become the dessert that I have ready and waiting when my college boys return home for a visit.

Kandie says:
My favorite cheesecake recipe!! I've made it a few times now and it comes out perfect every time!! Making it again this weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Michelle Nebel says:
Hey all! Just made this for July 4th dinner at my in-laws. Everyone loved it but everyone’s first comment was, wow this is rich! So I know everyone was struggling with the brownie layer. I might have undercooked mine. I cooked the brownies for 20 minutes. At dinner when we cut into the dessert, I noticed the center of the brownie was barely cooked and was basically batter. So next time I may try 30 minutes. But, since it was so rich, I may consider doing only half of the brownie batter. Then I could make brownie bites in a mini muffin pan, which I know my kids would like. I also may do slightly less mini semi sweet chocolate chips to help with the richness. I hope this helps!
