Private garden in southern Spain designed by me. At the moment it's a concept plan and I hope to see it built this year 💪 The project is thought for a family, the trees on the perimeter will reduce summer sun light, the front garden has an higher plant density and it's more formal than the back garden which has more open space, a home office modular structure and the area of the existing pool redesigned.#gardendesign #homeoffice #spain

Rural Housing Competition for Cascina Lossano near Pavia in Po Valley, Italy.I've been participation with Kamila Nasretdinova, Marta Minciotti and Chiara Dosso in this fantastic competition which challenged us. Thank you all, I'm pround of our project!Project description: Cascina Lossano is located in Po Valley, an agriculture heritage area known for rice cultivation. Presently, all the fields have been affected with intensive agriculture which has polluted the whole Valley reducing biodiversity and the population, hence, people has chosen to move into the cities. To re-inhabit the Cascina, it is necessary to change its neighbouring environment, introducing a sustainable way to agriculture, increasing biodiversity so as to reduce the chemical treatment of crops (agroforestry, the fruit forest and the synergic vegetable strategies). The future of Cascina is a community with stable future residents that works on site and valorizes their lands by cultivating and attracting visitors. We propose three new hybrid buildings alongside the residential ones: the new ones will face an internal court (very typical in the Italian Cascinas) to increase social interactions and make local events.New hybrid buildings will host different activities such as: hostel area, bistro, co-working, deposit area for rice machinery and a “Rice Museum”, all these activities keep the tradition alive creating work for the residents, hence, adding value to the zero kilometre crops strategy and the circular economy.Residents will share a common area and they will have a private synergic vegetable garden to grow their own food, all common green spaces will be fruit garden which are also didactic for visitors and children. The project also highlights some of the iconic aspects of the rural architecture such as the arc windows, the gable roof and the “rizzata” paving made by river pebbles.

Ombre Pisane Competition:redevelopment of the urban square "Piazza dei Cavalieri" in Pisa, Italy. The requests were to provide shade and reduce high temperatures in hot weather. We proposed circular sheets, permanent green areas with artistic installations and increase the existing fountain without covering the beautiful facades of historic buildings. Thanks to the whole teamMarta MinciottiandDavide Simoncini, I really enjoyed the competition and it was nice to visit Pisa and its historic center 🤗Project description (italian version available on the drawings here posted):Piazza dei Cavalieri is one of the most important squares in Pisa. Important buildings overlook it such as the Palazzo della Normale in Pisa, the Clock Tower and the Church of Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri. The square is a large open space without any type of street furniture which heats up in the warm seasons. That's why we thought about including urban greenery and covering sheets that provide shade areas, this system is pleasant to the eye, sustainable in composition and, of course, removable in cold seasons.Furthermore, vehicular traffic in the square could be made safer for pedestrians by limiting it there and in all areas around. The goals of the design strategy, which take into account the redevelopment of Piazza dei Cavalieri, will have to make the space accessible to everyone, making the area available for large public events. It is essential to continue to enhance the buildings that surround the square and to reduce the heat effect. To fulfill these objectives it was decided to divide the square into three macro areas:The first area brings together the seven side streets in a single central line followed by high circular awnings joined by curved beams with load-bearing pillars bearing information panels and circular seats. The curtains have different diameters and are made of coconut fiber fabric; some of these report the design of the Knights' cross created through the inclusion of plant species (Sedum spp. and Verbenaceae). The second area outlines an open area of respect for the Church and for the Normale, all the elements proposed respect the facades of historic buildings. Furthermore, flowerbeds and a new fountain, the new paving treatment proposed has a wave designs shape (link to historical heritage of Pisa). In the last area the curvilinear flowerbeds enhance the space by creating meeting squares with installations artistic: these spaces are useful for small commercial businesses. The design proposal aims to attract users to visit the square passing through the central line to have an overview to explore the urban grove area where you can rest in the shade of a tree in an environment rich in plants and art, creating new encounters.

New pool garden in Gello, Tuscany!I had the honor to collaborate with greek landscape studio Doxiadis+ and realize a beautiful wild mediterranean garden, giving a new identity to the area. We also used a "dry lawn" composed by Lippia nodiflora and Verbena hybrida to drastically reduce the water, all plants in this garden as a low water demand as in this area of Tuscany water is more important than gold!I've been learnig so much form this garden, thank you to Doxiadis+, Menici Lab (nursery and gardeners), BotanicalDryGarden for lawn supply and to our client.PS in last pics you can see Lippia nodiflora, Verbena hybrida and the planting plan project with all plants' name. Now plants please grow so next year this garden is going to be amazing!#mediterraneangarden #landscapearchitecture #water

The project for the Botanical Park of Piacenza (Parco di Porta Borghetto - PPB) is still going on, we're talking with local authorities and the project was showed at university of “Politecnico di Milano” as an important phase of my thesis. The botanical parks are botanical gardens opened to the city and accessible to everyone, they are divided in areas and one of these it is the scientific one which studies the climate change through plants' acclimatisation. Every city should have a botanical park, especially these cities where climate is particular, don't forget that most of our food comes from plants! The PPB was designed in an abandoned area in Piacenza, it wants to give a new identity to its neighbourhood and increase the greenery system of the city provide better slow connection between the city, its centre and the regional park outside the city's historical walls. Here some sketch and collages of the whole project which also includes the areas outside the city's historical walls.#landscapedesign #botanicalgarden #climatechange
