Openers Martin Guptill (66) and Henry Nicholls (80) produced a masterclass which was followed by a brisk 58* off 28 from Colin de Grandhomm as New Zealand registered a five-wicket win over India in the third and final ODI at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Tuesday. With the clinical win, the Kiwis avenged their T20I whitewash with a 3-0 clean sweep in the ODI format. Chasing 297, the Blackcaps crossed the finish line with 17 balls to spare. This is now the first time India have been whitewashed in an ODI series under Virat Kohli's captaincy.
New Zealand win by 5 wickets, sweep series 3-0
47.1 overs: FOUR! And, New Zealand have done it. A 3-0 whitewash over India. Colin de Grandhomm does the formalities with a boundary off Shardul Thakur. New Zealand win by 5 wickets with 17 balls to spare.
45.3 over: FOUR! Colin de Grandhomm taking the game away from India. Poor bowling from Shardul Thakur once again. Digs the ball in short and De Grandhomm was waiting for it. Pulls it and the thick top edge takes the ball over the fine leg fence on a bounce.
End of 44th over: Another good over for New Zealand as Tom Latham and Colin de Grandhomm collect 10 runs from it. Navdeep Saini has proved to be expensive today. He has leaked 68 in 8 overs so far. NZ 265/5
42.6 overs: SIX! FOUR! Back-to-back loose balls from Shardul Thakur. Colin de Grandhomm makes the most of them, smacking both on the leg side. De Grandhomm collects 10 runs off the last two deliveries. Thakur leaks 15 runs from the over. NZ 255/5

End of 39th over: A tidy comeback over from Jasprit Bumrah. Just 2 singles from it. New Zealand might have lost Ross Taylor and Henry Nicholls in quick succession but they seem slightly ahead in this chase with James Neesham (19*) and Tom Latham (12*) looking in good touch. A decent bowling performance from the Kiwis. They had India on the back foot and will be ruing the fact that they have let them reach a competitive score. They had India stuttering at 62/3 but failed to break the stand in the middle overs. Six bowlers used by Kane Williamson with Hamish Bennett being the pick of the lot. He was expensive but scalped 4 wickets including Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey and KL Rahul. Jamieson and Neesham were the two other bowlers to get into the wickets column. Southee was expensive and wicketless, while Santner bowled well but had nothing to show for it.
After being put in, India got off to a disastrous start losing both Mayank Agarwal and Virat Kohli early. Prithvi Shaw was looking very good but his run out made it worse for India. But thanks to Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, the Indians have managed to put up a more than decent total. The duo added 100-run stand with Iyer getting to his fifty but getting out against the run of play. Rahul and Manish Pandey added 107 runs for the fifth wicket with Rahul getting a century. The pair struggled to flourish towards the fag end though and that meant they could muster only 42 runs in the final 5 overs as both of them departed off consecutive deliveries. This meant India could not get to 300 but are just short of it.
