With spring in the air, many Tulsans have all things home and garden top of mind.

This weekend, the Tulsa Botanic Garden reopens for the season. Later this week, the Greater Tulsa Home & Garden Show marks its 75th anniversary as it returns to the SageNet Center at Expo Square. Also, the “Floral Resilience” exhibit opens at Philbrook Museum mid-month for a three-week run.

There also will be a variety of concerts and festivals to check out, including Irish Fest at River West Festival Park.

Here’s a sampling of what’s happening in Tulsa this month.

Through 4/25, ‘Collidoscope’

“Collidoscope: De la Torre Brothers Retro-Perspective” is an exhibit that features colorful multi-media blown-glass objects and elaborately framed lenticular prints that span the spectacular, genre-defying careers of artists and brothers Einar and Jamex de la Torre.

Through 3/9, ‘All the King’s Women’

The story of Elvis Presley is told through the eyes of 17 women in this fast-paced series of five comedic plays and three monologues based on the life of Elvis.

3/1, First Friday Art Crawl

The Tulsa Arts District hosts the monthly First Friday Art Crawl. Exhibits on display include “Cynthia Marcoux: Beaded Memories” at 108 Contemporary; Graffiti by Jaspy at Bar 46; K. Marina’s latest collection of jewelry at Colors of Etnika; “The Champagne & Chocolate Members Show” at Living Arts of Tulsa; “Wandering Spirit: African Wax Prints” and “OK Play!: A look at Tulsa sports teams — both familiar and forgotten” at 101 Archer; and the opening of “One Horizon Eclipses Another: The Art and Poetry of the Cross Timbers by Greg Stone & Ryan Slesinger” at Tulsa Artists’ Coalition Gallery.

Antoinette Baking Co. will have its regular Pie Night, and there will be weekend food specials at in the raw VU.

Find live music at clubs including LowDown, which will feature Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey.

3/2, John Herrington

John Herrington is a retired United States Naval Aviator and former NASA astronaut. In 2002, the Chickasaw citizen was selected as a Mission Specialist for STS-113, the sixteenth Space Shuttle mission to the International Space Station, becoming the first enrolled citizen of a Native American tribe to fly in space.

In 2016, Herrington wrote a children’s book, “Mission to Space,” which provides a glimpse into his experience as an astronaut, including training and missions. The book also includes an English to Chickasaw vocabulary list with space-related terms.

Tulsa City-County Library will celebrate Herrington at the 2024 Circle of Honor Award Presentation, which honors an American Indian for their lifetime achievements and contributions that have enriched the lives of others. Recipients receive a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by the Maxine and Jack Zarrow Family Foundation.

3/1-2, Shawn Wayans

Actor and comedian Shawn Wayans will perform four stand-up comedy shows at Bricktown Comedy Club Tulsa. Wayans will do two shows (7 p.m., 9:45 p.m.) each night.

Through 3/3, Just Between Friends

Mega consignment sale Just Between Friends returns to the SageNet Center at Expo Square. The sale will feature kids clothing, toys, baby gear and more.

3/2-3, Tulsa Botanic Garden Reopening Weekend

The Tulsa Botanic Garden is welcoming spring and celebrating with two days full of activities. Go on a spring scavenger hunt, enjoy lawn games like cornhole, garden ring toss, Jenga and more, as well as hourly giveaways. Anyone who joins or renews their garden membership on site this weekend will be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to the annual spring party, Sip & Stroll, on Saturday, April 13. Looking for flowers? Spring bulbs usually bloom from mid to late March through mid-April.

3/23, Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys

Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys will perform Sunday, March 3, at Cain’s Ballroom, in honor of the western swing star’s birthday month. The Saturday show was sold out, but for tickets to the Sunday show, go to cainsballroom.com.

3/5, LANY

LANY’s A Beautiful Blur world tour comes to BOK Center on March 5 with special guests Hazlett & Conor Burns. Fun fact: Lead singer and guitarist Paul Klein grew up in Tulsa.

3/6, Ariel Lawhon

Bestselling author Ariel Lawhon joins Magic City Books for a free event celebrating her latest novel, “The Frozen River,” named an NPR book of the year for 2023

The Frozen River is a historical mystery inspired by the life and diary of Martha Ballard, a renowned 18th-century midwife who defied the legal system and wrote herself into American history.

3/7, Craig Ferguson

Comedian Craig Ferguson brings his Fancy Rascal Tour to Tulsa. His late-night talk show “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” aired on CBS from 2005-14.

3/7-8, Colter Wall

Country singer-songwriter Colter Wall comes to Tulsa with special guest Red Shahan.

3/7-10, Greater Tulsa Home and Garden Show

Oklahoma’s largest home and garden products trade show has more than 400 exhibitors. See chef demonstrations, the Tulsa Master Gardeners, Inspyral Circus, a beer garden and more. In celebration of its 75th anniversary, $10,000 in show bucks will be given away every day of the show.

3/8, Great White and Slaughter

Rock acts Great White and Slaughter will share the stage at Hard Rock Live for a night. Great White topped the charts with “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and “Rock Me.” Slaughter’s hits include “Up All Night” and “Fly to the Angels.”

3/8-10, Irish Fest

Hear live Irish music and enjoy authentic food and drinks at Irish Fest. There will be a kids zone, worship services on Sunday and special VIP experiences at this celebration of Celtic heritage.

3/9, Jean Hanff Korelitz

Bestselling author Jean Hanff Korelitz will appear at a free afternoon event at Magic City Books. Korelitz will be in conversation with Magic City Books bookseller Andrea Avey and will sign copies of her books. Korelitz’s latest book, “The Latecomer,” was listed as a best book of the year in 2022 by many publications including the New York Times and the Washington Post.

3/9, Night Ranger

Rock group Night Ranger will perform at Hard Rock Live on March 9. The band’s platinum-selling albums “Midnight Madness” and “7 Wishes” produced hits such as “Sister Christian” and “(You Can Still) Rock in America.”

3/9-10, ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ in concert

This concert will feature a live symphony orchestra performing every note from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

3/11-17, McNellie’s 20th anniversary celebration

McNellie’s toasts its 20th anniversary with a week of festivities. There will be a Pint Night with specialty Guinness glassware and collaboration dinners with Fassler Hall, The Bull in the Alley/Tavern and Yokozuna/Mr. Kim’s. Founder Elliot Nelson also will host Beer University as he takes guests on a happy hour tour of McNellie’s unique brews. A pre-St. Patrick’s Day Block Party with a DJ and live music is set for Saturday, March 16, and the week will conclude Sunday, March 17, with a St. Patrick’s Day block party that will include the Guinness Gig Rig and music from DJ Moody.

3/12, Jennifer Croft

The Oklahoma Center for Humanities and Magic City Books will celebrate University of Tulsa President’s Professor Jennifer Croft and her new book, “The Extinction of Irena Rey.” Reception with wine and light appetizers to follow.

3/14, Lil Wayne

Rapper Lil Wayne will perform at BOK Center with support from Selfish Sons and Cordae. Lil Wayne has sold over 120 million records worldwide and has won five Grammys.

3/15, Chamber Music Series: Beethoven

The Tulsa Symphony presents the Josephine G. Winter Chamber Music Series, featuring a brass quintet and piano trio with piano, violin and cello.

3/17,Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram

Grammy-winning guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram brings his tour to Cain’s Ballroom. The young blues star has opened for the Rolling Stones in London’s Hyde Park and performed and toured with Vampire Weekend, Jason Isbell, Steve Miller and Buddy Guy.

3/17-4/7, ‘Floral Resilience’

Featuring basketry, beadwork, pottery, weavings and paintings — most by Native artists — “Floral Resilience” explores how flowers continue to be a symbol of Native resiliency.

3/21-24, ‘Romeo and Juliet’

Tulsa Ballet presents “Romeo and Juliet,” William Shakespeare’s story of star-crossed lovers. The choreography was commissioned from superstar choreographer Edwaard Liang for Tulsa Ballet in 2012.

3/24, Jim Gaffigan

Grammy-nominated comedian Jim Gaffigan brings his Barely Alive Tour to Tulsa. He’s also a New York Times bestselling author, three-time Emmy-winning touring performer and multi-platinum-selling recording artist. He is known around the world for his unique brand of humor, which largely revolves around his observations on life.

3/24, Steven Curtis Chapman

Acclaimed contemporary Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman will perform at Mabee Center. Chapman is the most awarded artist in Christian music history, with 59 Dove Awards, five Grammys and 50 No. 1 singles.

3/26, Stephen Graham Jones

Author Stephen Graham Jones will launch his new book, the final installment of the Indian Lake trilogy, “The Angel of Indian Lake,” at Circle Cinema. The event will include a book talk and signing, and there will be a surprise film screening selected by Jones. Each ticket comes with one hardcover copy of “The Angel of Indian Lake.”

3/26-31, ‘Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird’

Aaron Sorkin’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterwork comes to Tulsa, presented by Celebrity Attractions. With direction by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, “To Kill a Mockingbird” features Emmy Award-winning actor Richard Thomas in the role of Atticus Finch.

3/29, Three Dog Night

Three Dog Night is going strong in its fifth decade. Songs like “Mama Told Me (Not To Come),” “Joy to the World,” “Black and White,” “Shambala” and “One” are examples of the band’s enduring popularity.

3/30, Blake Shelton and Friends

Blake Shelton will host “All for the Hall” to benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and its education programs. The event will feature an all-star Oklahoma-grown lineup, including 22-time Grammy award winner and Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill, Country Music Hall of Fame member Ronnie Dunn, Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth, ACM and CMA nominee Wade Hayes and fan-favorite songwriters/performers The Swon Brothers.
