will be handled by the Labby Memorial uneral Home of Leesville Mr Rudolph died at riday Aug 15 at the Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital in ort Polk He was a member of the 488th Quartermaster Company at ort Polk Survivors include his wife Syble Rudolph of ort Polk one son Jeffrey Rudolph of Brooklyn Miss one daughter Stefani Shoja of Gainesville la and his parents Patrick and Joyce Rudolph of Brooklyn Miss William Weston Summitt William Weston Summitt of Anacoco La un expectedly died on Aug 17 2003 in the Leesville Hos pital from cardiac arrest following an episode of disori entation excessive sweating and loss of muscle control He was bom July 15 1932 in Columbia Boone County Mo to the late Dr William Knox Summitt and Alevia Maurine Burch Summitt Bill grew up in Searcy Ark where his parents located in the mid 1930s when his father joined the faculty of Harding College now Hard ing University He married Betty Jo Taylor of Mona han Texas on Aug 8 1955 while serving in the Unit ed States Army in LaRochelle rance She was born on June 9 1932 in Ranger Eastland County Texas They met while both were attending Harding College Bill graduated from Harding College in 1952 major ing in chemistry and math and spent a year in gradu ate school at Texas Tech before being drafted into the Army After his discharge from the Army he entered dental school at Washington University in St Louis Mo ollowing graduation from dental school Bill en tered a short period in the private practice of dentistry in Springfield Mo before re entering the Army as a commissioned officer and dentist He served in numer ous places throughout his Army career including the Pentagon Hawaii Vietnam in 1967 68 a tour at ort Polk in Louisiana and Panama before retiring as a full colonel in 1982 In the course of his Army career he be came a board certified prosthodonist and continued in this specialty upon leaving the Army After retirement Bill practiced dentistry in Heber Springs Ark for a short period before ultimately joining the West Louisiana Dental Center in 1 a a practice he engaged in until his retirement in 2000 His wife Betty was a constant and supporting companion as Bill pursued his professional career and they raised a fami ly of three sons Bill is survived by his wife Betty of Anacoco La his mother and two brothers James Knox Summitt and wife Eileen Stanton and Paul Clayton Summitt all of Niceville la three sons James William Summitt and wife Kayla Marie Isgitt of Anacoco Gerald Wayne Summitt of Conway Ark and Steven Weston Summitt and wife Ruth Ann Ebberts of Comith Miss four grandchildren Jennifer Evon Jessica Lee and William Kyle children of James William and Kayla and Joshua Weston child of Gerald Wayne and one great grand childt Ashlynn Taylor' Chaney of Jennifer Evon" as well as many collateral relations It is impossible to summarize a life in a small space and no effort to do so for Bill Summitt is attempted here It is enough to say that he will be
